Alliance is an important place for a player, at least what i think. When you start a server you,ll find different alliances. If the server is new many will try to get you, the case wont be same if its old server. You.ll find there are certain alliances which ask for some requirement like a minimum power, or experience or rank etc. most don't ask anything.
You have 3 options :
1. Make your own alliance:
You can make your own alliance but remember its not easy to handle the affairs of an alliance if its among top20 and especially if you dont have much experience. So if you think you cant organise well your alliamce them talk to others to merge your alliance with other alliance or disband it and ask your members to join other.
2. Join an alliance:According to your preference join an alliance, some are aggressive, some are mostly friendly or neutral to all. So if you are new join some middle rank alliance to grow. They are good diplomatic persons usually.But its your choice choose accordingly.
3. Solo : you can go solo also i.e alone with no alliance but its too dangerous as many would attack you thinking inactive or absence of diplomacy. so according to me its a no option unless you are too powerful.
There are many advantages of an alliance for ex. you can upgrade your gods, if your alliance zeus is at lvl8 you can upgrade your gods to lvl8 without alliance you can only upgrade till lvl4.
There are members to help you with rss , reinforement and with other problems, and other advantages.
Quit an alliance:
You can quit an alliance if you dont feel you belong there or they are not helping or they are inactive or there is war going on and you cant cope with it a you are already much damaged and cant grow . you should have genuine reason to quit alliance otherwise the alliance can go against you and you can find that no one is helping you on the server itself.
Disband alliance
If you are a chancellor and think you are not doing well, or want to merge with some other alliance as strategic move or want to provide your members a better option then you can disband your alliance.
You can disband only after ejecting every member from your alliance.
If you are mergeing then make sure that your every member joined the other alliance that you are merging with before you. after all its your responsibility.

To quit alliance :Go
to your embassy and there is a box that has your alliance name in it as
well as your alliance's message. In the upper left corner of that box
there are tabs which are tappable. If you tap it you'll have a 'Quit'
option. If you tap it you'll have a 'Quit' option.
